Middle School Essay Topics - Writing With a Unique Point of View

Middle School Essay Topics - Writing With a Unique Point of ViewWhen it comes to writing your middle school English essay, you'll want to know where to start. Should you start with your concept or should you start with the essay itself? Do you want to focus on a particular theme or have you already established a theme statement? If so, how should you write your middle school English essay topic?I would say that the main thing to think about when it comes to an essay is how much focus you want to put on your overall topic. For example, if you are doing a middle school English essay for a class paper, you might want to use a wide variety of topics, and perhaps even five, but this may not be the case if you are trying to write an essay for a career application. Why is this? Because essays need to stand out from all the other application essays. It's very important to make sure that you have strong overall theme in order to get the attention you are looking for. Whether you want to focus on a particular topic or have a general idea of the subject matter, make sure you're prepared before you get started. Do you know what kind of essay format you will need to use?If you don't know, think about all the things you have learned over the years and think about the kind of information you need to include in your essay and how much of it you think will be included and how much you really have to learn from someone else. Remember, as you read this, I am speaking in general, not specific to a particular topic that you are working on.Another good way to structure your middle school English essay topics is to use them as prompts. Do you have a particular problem that you want to address? What would be great is to write out your essay topics in a paragraph or two, and then list some of the things you might talk about. This is not to say that the ideas don't need to be yours; it is just that you might find it easier to use a well-organized set of topics as prompts rather than writ e an essay based solely on ideas and happenings that you happen to stumble upon. You should still get into the writing process, but be aware that many of these topics are going to be extremely important to your middle school essays. This doesn't mean that you can't include things that you would normally include, it simply means that you have to keep the general theme in mind. For example, if you're writing an essay on your experience in the military, you'll need to spend some time talking about the things that you like about your unit. Or if you're writing about the things that you like about your family, you'll need to think about the experiences that make you unique.Another important lesson in writing an essay is learning how to organize your thoughts. This is very easy to forget as you're trying to work through the ideas that you have for your middle school essays, but if you are organized at all, then you will be able to write them faster and more effectively. Organizing your tho ughts to be focused on a theme is a good place to start, but if you are not sure which theme you want to focus on, try using your themes from earlier as prompts. No matter how you approach your middle school essay topics, just be sure that you do your research and prepare before you actually sit down to write. Also, make sure that you spend some time making sure that your topic is interesting and that you don't forget the aspects of writing that will really help you write your essay, such as pacing, research, and the ability to write from a unique point of view.

Instigating the American Revolution Essay examples

In attempting to describe the origins of Revolution, American abolitionist Wendell Phillips once stated, â€Å"Revolutions always begin with the populace, never with the leaders. They argue, they resolve, they organize; it is the populace that, like the edge of the cloud, shows the lightning first.† However, when looking at the foundations of the American Revolution, this was simply not the case. Yes, while it is true that the colonists did organize and argue over how to communicate their grievances effectively with Great Britain, the idea of cutting their ties from Britian was the last thing that came to their minds. In this sense, it was the the British Parliament and King, not the populace, who instigated the American Revolution. While the British did listen to the colonists by repealing the Stamp Act in 1766, they made one more attempt to lure colonists into consuming their exports: the Tea Act in 1773. While this act was seen as a way to prevent the East India Trading Company from falling into bankruptcy, the Colonists saw this as an insult – it attempted to tempt away those who werent as committed to keep non-consumption under the guise of cheap Indian tea. As a result, many non-consumption advocates in Boston decided to dress up as Indians on December 16, 1773 and throw the  £10,000 of tea over the Boston Harbor, an action that resulted in the Boston Port Bill, a bill which closed down the ports and replaced the leadership in Boston with British commander Thomas Gauge as governor.4 Thus, by ignoring the non-consumption protests by passing the Tea Act, the British made the first steps towards Revolution by inciting colonists to act the way they did inShow MoreRelatedThe American Revolutionary War Essay1322 Words   |  6 Pag esStates of America the American Revolution is called the American War of Independence but in Europe it is more commonly referred to as the American Revolutionary War. Macbeth Themes Essay Example For Students

Macbeth Themes Essay William Shakespeare, in his tragic play Macbeth, written in 1606, dramatizes theunrelenting power of deception, insanity, and greed which ultimately results inthe demise of Macbeth. Macbeth allowed his desire to become king overrule hisjudgement which consummately terminated his existence. The play is full ofpestilence and set in Scotland during the eleventh century. In Macbeth, sleeplessness is an important motif that permeates the dramatic structure. Shakespeare uses this fatigue to substantiate the guilt of Macbeth, to representsubconscious insanity, and to show a foreshadowing of bad things to come. Themotif serves to dramatize the true overview of how the characters are handlingthe various tragedies that occur. Initially, the motif of sleeplessness is usedas a model of foreshadowing. For example, in Act II, scene i, Banquo finds ithard to sleep the night Macbeth is supposed to kill King Duncan. This isevidence that evil things will occur throughout the play. Furthermore, in ActII, scene ii, while Macbeth was killing Duncan, Malcolm and Donalbain arose intheir sleep. One laughed and the other cried murder. This is theirsleeplessness foreshadowing because Duncan was dead, even though the brothersdid not know it yet. Shakespeares use of the sleeplessness motif asforeshadowing allows the reader to get a concept of what evil will come in thefuture. Not only does Shakespeare use sleeplessness for foreshadowing he alsouses it as a mo de of guilt. For example, in Act II, scene ii, Macbeth thinks hehears a voice say, Sleep no more! Macbeth does murder sleep! This isMacbeth imagining voices, telling him not to sleep because he is feeling immoraland liable for Duncans murder. Next, Macbeth is afraid to sleep peacefullybecause he knows that Duncan is in restless ecstasy(Act III, scene ii). Apparently, Macbeth is aware of his wrongdoing and feels culpable that he isking and alive, but only at the sacrifice of Duncan. By using guilt to showsleeplessness, Shakespeare shows that a corrupt crime can only leave the mindunsure and unable to rest. The most significant aspect of this motif, however,is how it is used to demonstrate the insanity of Macbeth and his wife. Forinstance, in Act II, scene iv, Macbeth is at dinner with Lennox, Ross, and otherlords. He sees ghosts and is apparently insane. This proves that all the sleepin the world could never clear Macbeth of his crime, he is already destroyed. Inaddition, Lady Macbeth sleep walks and hallucinates a spot of blood on her handsin Act V, scene i. This proves that she has gone crazy as well. She cannot sleepbecause she is trying to remove the spot, which represents guilt. The strong useof insanity as a moving force in the play causes the reader to understand thatMacbeth and Lady Macbeth cannot rid themselves of their evil d eeds. The playdemonstrates that the subconscious can allow evil things to occur. Thesleeplessness motif is significant because it shows how the characters in theplay deal with their stresses. The eerie use of sleeplessness added to the guiltof the characters, the foreshadowing of evil supplied a dark sensation, and theirony of insanity showed that the characters souls could not handle thecalamitous situations. Macbeth could not sleep because he was too guilt-ridden,which eventually drove him to the breaking point. Macbeths fate, foretold bythe witches, finally caught up to him and after his frighteningly sleeplessnights, he was now engrossed by the eternal sleep called death.

However, when they get to the university or college they articulate in the traditions. Not every student at Penn State knows the song or the alma mater. However, when they go to a football game or other sporting event they will be standing proudly singing that same fig song or alma mater. Berry states that Theyll learn contempt for that university, Oklahoma to their Texas, Sacramento State to their L] . C. David Annapolis to their West Point (Berry, 207). This quote is saying the students will also learn who the rival university is, and they will build a for them, and root against them every chance they get. Socio views on rivalries deal with sports, and college students live off their SSP teams. If the teams do well then the campus is always more lively, but teams lose there is a down feeling all throughout the campus. For exam before Penn State played Michigan in football this year there was a hug anticipation for the game. Most of my friends and me would torture TTL people who drove from Michigan to the game. Then, after Penn State there was a huge negativity all throughout main campus, and I could tell especially from talking to people even a couple days or weeks afterward David Berry in his essay It Takes a Tribe discusses college rivalries, how students are passionate for their schools for the rivalries. David B and Laura Randall both write about college traditions, and the students participate in them. However, they both have very different opinions or traditions. Randall believes the universities are tired of the traditions the students take a part in. She also implies that there needs to be more of he classroom. However, Berry writes about how students are doing traditions because of the pride they have for the university. He implies students also love the rivalry between colleges. In colleges around the world students have different opinions on the universities they attend. In my college experience I have found nothing that makes me more excited than sporting events. Of course I go to class because that is the reason why any student goes to college. However, my passion for this university goes beyond the sporting events. The pride I have is different than what others have.Although, I do participate in all the traditions at Penn State, whether its going to the football game, and singing the alma mater, or singing Hey Baby in between the third and fourth quarter of a football game. They are all traditions which students that are enthusiastic for this university participate in. Students everywhere have some type of school pride, but all express it differently. Whether its streaking, or hazing they all have a meaning. The traditions that students participate in are out of the pride they have in their school, and there is nothing that will stop students from doing these traditions in the future.
